APPLICATIONS: Lower To Medium Production – The Swisher grinder is ideal for squaring up pieces, cleanup prior to lapping, tool & die making and sharpening. It can be found in tool and die departments, tool & die shops, job and short run production shops, piston ring manufacturers and mechanical seal re-manufacturers.

STANDARD MODEL:
STANDARD ROTARY General Specifications Stationary Spindle, Rotating Table, Standard downfeed Mechanism (.0005” Increments to a maximum of .03”/min.) Manual – The Standard Rotary Manual is a vertical spindle surface grinder with a 3 HP or 7-1/2 HP, 1800 RPM motorized spindle. It features a handwheel graduated in .0005”. All necessary machine functions are accessible through the operator’s control panel. Automatic - Same standard features as the Manual. A pneumatic cylinder driven pawl drives a ratchet ring which is directly connected to the lead screw. A counter sets the downfeed distance, and a timer sets the downfeed rate. This also employs the Rapid Traverse System.

PRECISION ROTARY General Specifications Stationary Spindle, Rotating Table, Precision Downfeed Mechanism (.0001” increments to a maximum of .125”/Min.)
Precision Auto-Cycle – The Precision Rotary Auto-Cycle is a vertical spindle surface grinder with a 7-1/2 HP, 1800 RPM motorized spindle. It features a closed loop servo motor that feeds the grinding spindle in .0001” resolutions. Dual velocity, distance, dwell, and wheel compensation can be programmed into the membrane keypad module. An A/B programming switch enables the keypad memory to hold two sets of parameters for two side grinding.
Precision Rotary Automatic – Same standard features as the Auto-Cycle. Dual, velocity distance, and dwell can be programmed into the control panel thumbwheels. All necessary machine functions are accessible through the operator’s control panel. |

MARK VI General Specifications Fixed workholding, Sweeping Spindle, standard downfeed mechanism (.0005” Increments to a maximum of .05”/min. per cycle)
Manual – The Mark VI Manual is a vertical spindle surface grinder with a 3 HP, 1800 RPM motorized spindle. It features a handwheel graduated in .0005” which controls wheel position and is conveniently located for ease of operation.
Automatic – The operator panel features all the electrical controls in one location. A cycle counter sets the total number of downfeed passes required. A sparkout counter sets the number of passes required to achieve the desired micro-finish. A rapid traverse system quickly raises and lowers the assembly for wheel and part changes. |
